The proverbial ââ¬Ëthermal shockââ¬â¢ is not just a conversation topic. Nor is it a simple occurrence which discomfits people when there is a sudden change in the ambient temperature. Heat wave deaths are no joke. Wild fluctuations in temperature are very bad for the homeothermic organisms that human beings are. So are intense and prolonged heat wave conditions. By homeothermic, we mean that the human body cannot regulate body temperature beyond a certain level of heat or cold, and begins to lose its balance. This balance, referred to as homeostasis, fails and it causes a condition called hypothermia. Absence of thermoregulation can be fatal for the human body.
Though it varies from region to region, a temperature of 110 degrees Fahrenheit is considered too hot for the human body. It may cause excessive sweating and heat sores. Continued prevalence of this kind of temperature would result in nausea and unconsciousness. Heat wave deaths are a culmination of these effects. They would start with the individual being unable to eat or digest anything. Continued abeyance from drinking fluids makes the gullet parched. If weather conditions of temperature above 110 degrees Fahrenheit continue, they are usually compounded by spells of dry weather, or humidity, which only make things worse for the population.
Not only are the heat wave deaths a result of continued crop failures due to dry weather which results in famine, but also are because of the inability of the human body to stand the intolerably high heat and humidity. These internal and external factors are fuelled further by global warming. www.odinmetatech.com/personal-technology/cant-take-the-heat-anymore-don-on-an-air-conditioned-jacket/
